Our Recycling Policy

Battery Recycling

Perth Mobility Scooters proudly recycles batteries for our customers. You are welcome to drop off your old batteries with us at any time. We are highly committed to keeping batteries out of landfill and have proudly partnered with Ecobatt to recycle our batteries.

Our recycling program is not only a convenient service we offer but it also means that together we are able to make a positive impact on the environment.

Did you know?

Batteries are the most common form of household hazardous waste. Batteries placed in your household waste can represent a fire hazard and when they reach landfill, they can also leach hazardous materials. Keep toxic substances out of landfill and avoid fire risk. Do not place your batteries in your household waste.

Valuable Resources

Batteries contain valuable resources such as lead, cadmium, mercury, lithium, uranium, manganese, nickel, and zinc. These materials should not be wasted, they are non-renewable but infinitely recyclable. When recycled, 95% of the battery components can be used to make new batteries or repurposed for use in other areas.

What We Do

We have a dedicated weekly recycling program in conjunction with a market leader in Western Australia. Once a battery is at the end of its life it is picked up and taken to a purpose-built facility. The battery is assessed and then broken down into each of its components and the materials reused to produce new batteries.

What can you do?

Protect the environment by recycling. Come in with your old batteries regardless of the type or chemistry to be replaced and simply leave it here with us & we will do the rest!

Cardboard & Packaging Recycling

Perth Mobility recycles, re-purposes and responsible disposes all of its cardboard and packaging in various ways.

Did you know?

All of our mobility scooters arrive at our warehouse well protected on pallets and in large cardboard boxes with various packing materials used for protection. To ensure that your scooter arrives in tip-top shape, they need to be carefully packaged in transit to us. Depending on the particular scooter they’re packed amongst materials like cardboard fill, additional smaller cardboard boxes, polystyrene and bubble wrap.

Valuable Resources

All of our pallets are re-used for freighting out products to our customer base and strategically aligned businesses. We also donate excess pallets to individuals for use in DIY projects like garden beds and walls.  All of the oversized boxes and excess cardboard packing blocks that we cannot re-use in other areas of our business are recycled. All smaller boxes are re-used when we freight products back out to customers.

What about the bubble wrap and other packing materials? We love them! We re-use them to re-pack and protect products that we post out to our customers.

What’s left?

What’s left? Not much! The occasional items are placed in our waste management bin which is picked up and responsibly sorted by our waste management provider.

What can you do?

By purchasing your mobility scooter from Perth Mobility, you can rest assured that we will take care of recycling and re-purposing and keeping as much packaging material out of landfill as possible.
